Carpet cleaning wands are what most people think of when they think of carpet cleaning and were the default tool for cleaning both shag and berber carpeting up until the late 90's. While rotary carpet machines do a better job on shag carpeting wands are still needed for cleaning berber carpet and different kinds of rugs.
